Leading artists have been designing special Christmas baubles which will be auctioned off for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, one of our beneficiaries.

The works of art will be hanging in Brown’s Hotel in London throughout December.  Art lovers can bid for them in a silent auction.

Fashion designer Paul Smith has also decorated a Christmas tree in the hotel with hundreds of hand-painted baubles alongside topiary animals inspired by 'The Jungle Book'.  'The Jungle Book' is believed to have been written by Kipling while staying at the hotel.

Artists taking part include

  • Tracy Emin,

  • Fiona Rae,

  • Tim Noble and Sue Webster,

  • Caragh Thuring,

  • Richard Woods,

  • Rob Ryan,

  • Naomi Avsec,

  • acclaimed architect Piers Gough and

  • Paul Smith

Paul Smith said: “I have always loved the look and feel of Brown’s Hotel. Like us they are proud to be British but with a contemporary twist. I am delighted to have been challenged to create something truly unique while raising money for Maggie’s. The idea behind Maggie’s is inspiring and it is a privilege for us to raise funds for them. We are currently working with them, by way of decorating and furnishing the interiors of their new centre in my home town of Nottingham.

Brown’s Hotel is on Albemarle Street, London, W1S 4BP. The auction ends in early January.

People’s Postcode Lottery players have raised over £1.65 million for Maggie’s work in Scotland, England and Wales.
