Four wonderful new charities now supported by People's Postcode Lottery players

Thanks to the fantastic help of our players, People's Postcode Lottery have been able to extend the support we offer to good causes across Britain.

It was recently announced that four new charities will be receiving support from players of People's Postcode Lottery, enabling them to continue the great work they do. In Scotland, players now support National Museums Scotland and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. In England, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the National Trust will receive support, along with the National Trust in Wales.

This enriches the portfolio of charities that players of People's Postcode Lottery support, now ranging from disadvantaged children, to cancer caring centres, wildlife and cultural and environmental causes.

Since revealing the new charities, there have been a number of very exciting developments that the £100,000 funding will be able to support. The National Trust recently discovered that a painting in their collection may in fact be an original Rembrandt, and the money awarded to them will pay for the cleaning and investigations required to confirm this.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew have unveiled a new project which will protect the UK's trees. Their Seed Bank will collect seeds and grow a number of UK trees, protecting their diversity and helping with their restoration into the countryside.

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh have been running their “Edible Garden” project which encourages people to grow their own food and shows them where to start, with workshops, demonstrations and drop-in sessions.

The funding for National Museums Scotland has been earmarked to make improvements to Scotland's National Airshow, a fantastic family event with lots to see and do.

With so many exciting projects going on all over Britain, we want to thank our players for their wonderful support, which allows these projects to continue.  We encourage you to go along and have a look at what these fantastic charities are doing, and enjoy the wonderful activities on offer.
