Friday 13th is renowned as the unluckiest day of the year. Many people take days off work and batten down the hatches to avoid any unlucky disasters.

But for five residents of Vermont Avenue in Glasgow, it’s probably their luckiest day of the year. Today their postcode, G73 2LL, was picked in the Daily Prize, scooping them £1,000 per ticket.

And the luck didn’t end there. Some of these residents are playing with multiple tickets. Two players have won £2,000 and one player has scooped a wonderful £3,000. So for them, Friday 13th has been a very lucky day indeed.

It’s not just local players that win big. The People's Postcode Trust, a small grant-giving programme funded entirely by players, has already supported two projects in the G73 area.

Regen-FX Youth Trust, a charity that supports vulnerable children and young people living in deprived areas, is one of the projects to have secured funding. Over £7,000 was awarded to the charity to support their Radworx programme. This provides BMX-ing, skateboarding and in-line skating coaching for the young people.

People's Postcode Lottery is Great Britain's charity lottery. Every penny raised in Scotland stays in Scotland. To date, more than £11.2 million has been raised for charities in Scotland.
