Christmas celebrations begin early for Conon Bridge residents
Players in Conon Bridge should be double-checking their postcodes this week, as locals have scooped £2 Million in the latest Postcode Millions draw.
The winning postcode sector has been revealed as IV7 8 in Ross-shire. All Postcode Lottery players living in that postcode area set to win cash prizes. Those living in the full winning postcode – to be revealed at a private party on Saturday 29th December – will win the lion's share of the prize.
Scotland has certainly had a good run of luck with the Postcode Millions having landed eleven times across the country since the Lottery began. Most recently, residents in Cupar walked away with a total of £2 Million in July this year. Residents of Thurso shared a staggering £2.1 Million in April 2010 and over £1 Million went to Balloch in March 2009.
However, it's not just players who win. Players have raised over £21.3 Million for good causes to date, including CHILDREN 1ST and Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres. These charities both operate throughout Scotland and in the local Inverness area. The charities have received over £2.2 Million and £2.4 Million to date respectively to support the fantastic work they do every single day.
Funding from players of the lottery also supports a variety of good causes all over the country. Over £3.4 Million has been awarded to fantastic projects in Scotland by People's Postcode Trust. This grant-giving charity is funded entirely by our players. The Trust has given over £200,000 to projects in the IV postcode area.
People's Postcode Lottery ambassador, Judie McCourt, said: “We are over the moon that the Postcode Millions has landed in Scotland again – what a great way to end the year. Conon Bridge is such a tight-knit community, so it's fantastic that everyone playing in the postcode, IV7 8, will win a share of the £2 Million. Congratulations to everyone!”
