Lucky players in North Shields will be in good spirits today after People’s Postcode Lottery announced that locals have scooped a total of £290,000 in the European Postcode Millions draw.

The winning postcode sector has been revealed as NE29 8 and all players living in the area are set to win a cash prize. Those living in the full winning postcode, to be revealed at a special winners' celebration, will scoop the lion's share of the prize.

People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Judie McCourt said, "I'm excited that the European Postcode Millions will be in North Shields. The best part of my job is handing out fantastic cheques and I can't wait to make players in the NE29 8 sector very happy, just in time for Christmas."

It's not only winners who benefit from playing People's Postcode Lottery. To date, our players have raised more than £33.2 Million for charities and good causes, including Children North East who have been awarded over £500,000. The charity recently launched the Giving Tree Appeal where they collect gifts and donations for disadvantaged children and families.

Carol Taylor from Children North East said, "I am delighted that European Postcode Millions has landed in North Shields. Through every ticket bought, players of People's Postcode Lottery have ensured that we can continue our good work helping children, young people and their families. The great part about playing is that players and charities can win together. We also must thank the staff of People's Postcode Lottery who will be buying gifts for our giving tree appeal to families who need them most this Christmas."
