Hundreds of Port Talbot residents set to share another £2 Million spring windfall
They say lightning never strikes twice. However, for residents
in Port Talbot, it seems that good luck certainly does, as the area is set to
share another £2 Million with People's Postcode Lottery.
Local residents from the Port Talbot area should be
double-checking their postcodes this week. People's
Postcode Lottery has today announced that all players in SA12 7 have won in
the latest £2 Million Postcode Millions draw.
This is the second Postcode Millions win for Port Talbot in
the last 12 months. It's also the third win for residents in South Wales. Only last
April, players in the SA12 6 postcode area shared £2 Million. Last October,
lucky Newport residents also scooped a £2 Million win.
This April, it's the turn of hundreds of People's
Postcode Lottery players in SA12 7 to win their share. Those living in
the full winning postcode – to be revealed at a party in town on Saturday
27th April – have won
the lion's share of the prize. Winners will be invited, along with the general
public, to the Millions' celebrations.
People's Postcode Lottery ambassador and rugby legend Scott Quinnell said; “It's fantastic news to see another postcode here in South Wales share £2 Million – and one that's so close to last April's winning postcode. Unbelievable! Hundreds of players playing in the SA12 7 postcode will walk away with a cheque from our Postcode Millions party on Saturday 27 April – what a great way to start the summer. Congratulations to all of the players and good luck.”
Yet, it's not just the players who win with People's Postcode Lottery. In fact, players have raised over £24.7 Million to date for good causes, including Missing People and Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres. Debbie Horrigan, centre head at Maggie's South West Wales said; “We want to wish all of the players in Port Talbot the best of luck for what is set to be a life-changing weekend on the 27th April and we also want to say a massive thank you. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised a huge amount of money that ensures Maggie's doors are open to support local people affected by cancer.”
Furthermore, players are supporting great charities and good
causes right on their doorstep. More than £46,000 has been awarded to 19 good
causes in the SA postcode area by People's Postcode Trust. The Trust is a grant-giving
body funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery. Swansea-based Undercurrents Foundation is one of the fantastic local projects
to have received support, with funding of over £4,500 going to The Sol
