People's Postcode Trust Opens Latest Round Of Funding
Scott Quinnell launching the new funding round, where registered charities can apply for upto £5,000
Community groups could soon be in the money thanks to a new round of funding for organisations in Wales.
People's Postcode Trust is a grant-giving charity funded
entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery. People's Postcode Lottery has raised over £16 Million for good causes
across Britain so far. The Trust offers
community groups, clubs and registered charities the opportunity to apply for
some of this funding for 3-month projects.
Scott Quinnell, ambassador for People's Postcode Lottery,
said, “In such a challenging economic climate, this new round of funding is a
fantastic opportunity for so many good causes.
No organisation is too big or too small, we have seen how
just £500 can make the world of difference to an organisation. We hope to see lots of applications from all
across the country.”
The Trust has funded over 50 projects across Wales to
date. Examples include an outdoor gym
for a local community group, a sustainable vegetable garden featuring an
eco-greenhouse and the purchase of personal floatation devices for a rescue association.
All community groups, sports clubs and registered charities
are invited to apply for funding from £500 up to £2,000. Registered charities can apply for up to
£5,000. Projects must last for no longer
than 3 months and must be completed within 6 months of receiving the grant
payment. Applications are accepted for projects in Wales, England and Scotland. The deadline for all applications is 5pm on Friday 24 February.
