Make sure your vote counts
This morning, People's Postcode Trust launched their Vote that Counts campaign. This invites 12 charities to compete for a total of £60,000 funding.
Working in partnership with the Sunday Mail, the campaign was officially launched with a huge four-page pull-out on the 12 chosen charities in today's paper.
The campaign is the first of its kind for People's Postcode Trust, inviting the public to choose which charity deserves £50,000. As well as the top funding pot, five runner-up charities will also be awarded £2,000.
In such difficult economic times, the funding will be a huge boost to any of the charity's current or future Scottish projects. Yet, with such a broad selection of chosen charities, voting for the most deserving one won't be an easy decision.
Now that the campaign is officially underway, it's up to you to make your vote count. It's free and takes just two minutes. Everyone has one vote to choose the charity you think deserves the top prize of £50,000 funding. Remember to pass this onto your friends and family as well, to make sure your chosen charity gets the highest number of votes.
To take part and make your vote count, simply visit votethatcounts.org and have a read about each of the charities. Once you've picked one, get voting. It's as easy as that and it means one lucky charity will be getting a fantastic gift this Christmas.
The Vote that Counts campaign was launched earlier this month by Country Director, Annemiek Hoogenboom and People's Postcode Trust Chair, Jo Bucci, at an event held at the Lottery's offices. Each of the charities was briefed on what the campaign would involve, what they all could stand to ‘win’ and, most importantly, how they could get their supporters on board.
There was plenty of buzz at the event, as everyone was clearly keen to get started and make sure their charity scoops the top prize. Yet, no-one was willing to share any tips. Competition is clearly fierce, and ideas were being firmly kept under wraps.
The 12 chosen charities are:
Aberlour Child Trust
Action for Children
Barnados
CLIC Sargent
Fairbridge
Help for Heroes
Macmillan Cancer Support
Quarriers
Samaritans
Shelter
Teenage Cancer Trust, and
Turning Point Scotland
For more information on each of the projects, please visit Vote that Counts or take a peek at today's Sunday Mail. As well as the charity profiles in today's edition, a selection of charities will be featured in the paper over the following six weeks.
The campaign closes on 04 December 2011. Make sure it's your Vote that Counts today!
