Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has secured £100,000 in funding from players of People's Postcode Lottery to support its ground-breaking Community Development projects. This marks the start of long-term support from our players.

Funding like this will help the award-winning Foundation to continue to use the unique appeal of the Premier League Football Club and its players to deliver creative, innovative and engaging programmes that improve social cohesion, build self-esteem and develop positive attitudes amongst young people.

This isn't the first time that players of People's Postcode Lottery have supported Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. The Kickz football project previously received £48,000 from People's Postcode Trust, a grant-giving organisation funded entirely by our players. Projects like Kickz encourage young people in some of the roughest areas of North London to participate in positive sporting activities in the evenings. This new funding will now take the total received by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to an impressive £148,000.

One project to benefit from our players' support is E18GHTEEN, which offers support to young people in care and care leavers who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). This tailored programme allows these people to explore employment opportunities and enjoy a higher quality of life.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation also run OnSide, a project which mentors 10 to 16 year olds experiencing difficulties preparing for adulthood for a period of 12 months.

Grant Cornwell MBE, Chief Executive Officer of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, believes that funding such as this is imperative to helping Tottenham Hotspur Foundation achieve its objectives. "We would like to thank players of People's Postcode Lottery for the funding towards our Community Development projects," he said. "We at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation believe this funding will go a long way towards helping us achieve our aim of improving social cohesion, developing the potential of our young people and creating safer communities.

"The Foundation runs a number of successful projects in the local area and we're delighted that this funding will not only allow our existing projects to grow, it will also enable us to develop more targeted projects for the future, increasing our reach and helping to support young people in a range of engaging, constructive activities.”

Hazel Johnstone, Trusts Manager at People's Postcode Lottery, is likewise excited about this new funding. “We are delighted that players of People's Postcode Lottery are able to support the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation," she said. "Players have already supported the Foundation through People's Postcode Trust with Kickz receiving £48,000 and we are thrilled about the continuation of this relationship."
