Daisy Chain name baby chick 'Postcode' as thank you to players of People's Postcode Lottery
In a People's Postcode Lottery first, a brand new baby chick has been named in our honour. Little 'Postcode' came into the world at the beginning of March. She was given her lovely name by the team at Daisy Chain.
'Postcode' is just one of many new animals to arrive on the Daisy Chain farm. Some of the new additions, including Postcode, are being named in thanks to the players of People's Postcode Lottery. Without your support, Daisy Chain would not be able to achieve the fantastic work they do every single day. The arrival of 'Postcode' and her future friends marks a long lasting relationship with the North East charity.
The Daisy Chain farm is over 5.5 acres, with all sorts of animals. There are pigs, cows, donkeys, guinea pigs, rabbits, sheep, goats and even a tortoise. The farm is a popular attraction for the entire family. Children are given the chance to hold the animals and get involved in feeding and grooming.
At Daisy Chain, the team believes that animals are a great tool to encourage interaction and stimulation for children affected by autism. Many of these youngsters can struggle to develop relationships, even with members of their own families. To date, People's Postcode Lottery players have raised over £270,000 for the North East charity, helping to bring the Daisy Chain farm to life. Daisy Chain is funded through the Postcode Care Trust.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome little 'Postcode' to the world. We hope that she enjoys the Daisy Chain farm and we're looking forward to meeting the other additions very soon!
