Our players' support helps...

The generous support of the People's Postcode Lottery allows the National Galleries to reach a wider public across Scotland and helps us to make spectacular exhibitions and acquisitions for the enjoyment and inspiration of visitors of all ages.

The National Galleries of Scotland look after one of the world's finest collections of Western art ranging from the Middle Ages to the present day including Scotland's national collection of Scottish and international fine art and photography.

NGS recognises that it has responsibility to encourage as many people as possible to use and enjoy the collection. The organisation tries to create a dynamic, user-friendly institution. It actively seeks to engage with audiences and bring the collection to life. This applies to both visitors to the Galleries and wider audiences across the world via education and outreach programmes and an award winning website.

The charity has 3 galleries in Edinburgh

• the Scottish National Gallery
  

• the Scottish National Portrait Gallery

• the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art
  

and two partner galleries

• Duff House in Banff

• Paxton House in the Scottish Borders
