us to bring more than 1,200 disabled or disadvantaged people to the Yorkshire Dales every year, often for the first time, to enjoy all kinds of activities and adventures in the beautiful countryside.  

The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is a small charity doing big things to support every aspect of life in the Yorkshire Dales.

To date the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust has helped to deliver over 1,200 projects worth around £25 million in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas.

Much of the Trust's early work focused on conserving the unique heritage features that make the Yorkshire Dales landscape special – like rebuilding walls and restoring village halls.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust works hard to protect the environmental, social and economic well-being of the Yorkshire Dales for future generations. Our work has helped to…

• Restore 300 hectares of hay meadows, home to hundreds of species of wildlife

• Provide training opportunities for young local people to learn countryside management skills

• Plant over 1 million native broadleaf trees to re-establish hundreds of beautiful woodlands

• Provide financial support and expert advice to hundreds of life-changing community projects and initiatives.
