Street Prize

Payout For Poole

A nurse from Poole has scooped £25,000 and is promising to treat her cancer-stricken sister to a holiday.

Sandra Woolley from Chubbs Mews won the money when her postcode, BH12 2LL, was drawn as a Saturday Street Prize winner.

"My sister has been going through chemotherapy treatment so she deserves a nice holiday," she said. "The medical insurance she needs for travelling abroad is too expensive and so I will take care of that for her so that she can afford to get away."

Sandra signed up to play People's Postcode Lottery three months ago and she just can't believe her luck.

"I'm a typical nurse who puts everyone else first," she added. "I haven't really thought too much about what I would like to do with the money, but I really need a new carpet for my stairs so that's a good place to start!"

People's Postcode Lottery players have raised over £95.3 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. Locally funded projects in the Poole area include the British Wireless Fund for The Blind, which received £4,505 to provide free audio equipment to service users and UK Youth, which received £8,998 to expand their fleet of canoes for watersports sessions.

People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson, who caught up with Sandra at her work, said, "It was a real pleasure to do something nice for Sandra at the hospital where she looks after so many patients," he said. "It's a fantastic prize and I'm sure this will add some extra festive cheer to Sandra's Christmas."
