27 June 2015 - SL3 7HP - Slough - £2 Million - BH23 3BG - Christchurch - £25,000 - PE13 4SL - Wisbech - £25,000
Slough players have won an amazing £2 Million in the June Postcode Millions

This weekend, players in Slough, Christchurch and Wisbech are having the Saturday of a lifetime. Saturday Street Prizes have landed in BH23 3BG and PE13 4SL, and the £2 Million June Postcode Millions was scooped by postcode sector SL3 7.

There were screams and shouts of joy today when a stunned Slough player was left speechless after her postcode, SL3 7HP, was announced as the June Postcode Millions full winning postcode. She was the lucky winner of a whopping £400,000.

Deborah Lawrence, 57, attended the Postcode Millions celebration with her daughter Jemma. "It's unbelievable," she said. "My family will be very happy this year."

Thanks to playing with the full winning postcode, revealed at the celebration at Upton Court Park, Slough, Deborah plans to treat her family. "My son, Daniel, and his partner have just announced that they are having twins," she said. "It's extra special news as they were struggling to start a family, so we're calling them the little miracles. The money will definitely go towards a double buggy, among other things – it'll be two of everything."

As well as her two new grandchildren on the way, Deborah has plans for her six-year-old grandson, Bruno. "Bruno will be getting Spanish lessons this year," she said. "His dad, who is my daughter Jemma's partner, speaks five languages, so I'm sure Bruno will follow in his footsteps."

Mother-of-three Deborah signed up to play People's Postcode Lottery two years ago to support charities and good causes. "I work as a Volunteering Development Manager for Age Concern Slough, so I know how important funding is for smaller charities."

Deborah and her husband of 34 years, Stuart, have already booked a family holiday to Majorca this year with their three children and two grandchildren. "We can all celebrate together on holiday," she said. "I'm looking forward to getting my hair done and pampering myself before we jet off. By winning this money, it means we can also get some winter sun this year. Perhaps somewhere like Africa or the Caribbean."

Another big winner on the day, Catherine Whitaker, was delighted to win £20,556. "I've wanted to go to San Diego Zoo my whole life to see the endangered species and the polar bear colony, and now I'll be able to afford it," she said. "Hopefully my husband Bob and I can go at the end of the year. It was also really nice to meet the charity representative from Missing People. I'm hoping to volunteer with them in the future."

The event saw 153 residents in the winning postcode sector SL3 7 share a £2 Million prize pot, with prizes ranging from £1,712 to £400,000.

Two People's Postcode Lottery ambassadors, Danyl Johnston and Judie McCourt, were on hand at the event to congratulate winners and hand out big cheques. A former X-Factor star, Danyl Johnston said, "I have loved being in Slough today. The sun was shining and all the players were so excited and really enjoyed celebrating together."

The winners' celebration saw a number of supported charities in attendance, including Riding for the Disabled Association, Médecins Sans Frontières, Girlguiding, Missing People, Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, Book Aid International, Canal & River Trust, Royal Voluntary Service, Opportunity International and War Child.

The south of France is calling for Brian Rickman in Christchurch, who won £50,000 this weekend. His postcode, BH23 3BG, was drawn as a winner in this week's Saturday Street Prize.

Brian, 52, was relaxing at home when he was surprised by rugby legend and People's Postcode Lottery presenter Scott Quinnell."That was such a big shock," he said. "It hasn't sunk in."

Although Brian, who plays with two tickets, still can't believe his luck, he has a few ideas on how he will spend his winnings. "I really need a new car," he said. "I have a Peugeot 206 that's about 20 years old now, and I would love to get a nice Audi."

Apart from a new car, Brian has something else very special in mind. "My goddaughter is getting married next year in the south of France," he said. "I didn't think I'd be able to go as I couldn't afford it, but now I can see her get married and turn it into a holiday."

After meeting Brian, Scott Quinnell said, "Brian was so excited to receive his cheque today. It was really great to meet him and find out what he plans to spend his winnings on – I hope he gets the car of his dreams and his trip booked."

Our second Saturday Street Prize winner of the week hails from Wisbech. Her postcode, PE13 4SL, was drawn as a winner, and Janet Hurst, 73, was all smiles when she saw her £25,000 cheque.

Janet was at home with her husband David when she was surprised by former X-Factor finalist and People's Postcode Lottery presenter Danyl Johnson, who presented her with her cheque. "I'm over the moon," she said. "I've never won anything before – I had to pinch myself to make sure it was real."

Now that Janet knows that her win is real, she has a few ideas of how to spend the money. "The first thing I want to do is get my teeth sorted out," she said. "One fell out recently and another is loose. It can be expensive, but I want to be able to smile with confidence. I also need to get a new TV. Our TV at the moment takes about 20 minutes to come on in the morning."

As well as dental work and a new TV, Janet has a big family to spoil. "We have four children, 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren," she said. "I can't wait to tell them all about my win."

A retired café manager, Janet has been playing for over a year and is delighted she decided to sign up. "The team at People's Postcode Lottery were so lovely. It's so nice to be a part of that and to support good causes. I'll be telling all my neighbours to start playing."

Danyl said, "Janet couldn't stop smiling when I presented her with her cheque, although I know she'll be smiling even more when she gets the dental work she wants. I hope she treats herself."

One good cause near to Janet in Wisbech to receive funding from players is the South Holland Enterprise for the Disabled. They support people with physical and sensory disabilities, particularly through the development of sport, recreation and employment initiatives. Their award went towards the creation of a Wildflower Walk, a place where local residents can mingle with butterflies, bees and other pollinating insects in their natural habitats.

South Holland Enterprise for the Disabled is just one of many charities and good causes supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery. Players have raised over £72.2 Million for a range of amazing charities and deserving community projects.
