Established in May this year, the colony started with initially 30,000 bees. It now houses over 100,000 bees. This is fantastic news for bees across Scotland. The loss in suitable habitats, such as hedgerows and hay meadows, has seen a real danger of bee numbers declining. The money was used to build a sensory room fitted with specialist mirrors, soft furnishings, lighting and projectors.
