A surprise extra £25,000 has been awarded to charities supported by players

Today it was announced that players of People's Postcode Lottery are awarding a number of supported charities an extra £1.4 Million. Charities including Missing People, Canal & River Trust and PDSA will now receive an extra £25,000 this year on top of the fantastic sums of money they already receive from players. This extra money will make a considerable difference to the communities, environments and individuals the charities work with.

Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People's Postcode Lottery, said, "The supported charities set to receive this extra £25,000 provide vital services across Great Britain and internationally, so I am delighted that this extra funding will enable them to progress with their work. As the number of players continues to increase, the amounts awarded to charities will only continue to rise. On behalf of all the supported charities, I would like to say a massive thank you to all the players. Your support makes such a difference to so many lives."

WaterAid is just one of the charities that will receive the extra £25,000. The new funding will allow WaterAid to progress with their vision to ensure a world where everyone has access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.

Dave Hillyard, Head of Major Partnerships at WaterAid, said, "We are absolutely delighted to hear that players of People's Postcode Lottery will be awarding WaterAid with an extra £25,000. The funding makes such a difference to the work carried out by WaterAid and will help to ensure that targets are met."

People's Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery operating across the whole of Great Britain. Players have awarded over £58.6 Million to charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
