Last month, Postcode Community Trust's first round of funding for its Community Grant Programme was awarded, with 115 projects receiving an incredible £1 Million.

The Trust is now proud to announce that applications for the second round of funding in 2015 are now open.The Community Grants Programme exists to support projects of up to one year in length that deliver a positive impact to local communities.

Charities and community groups across Scotland, Wales and the Midlands are now encouraged to apply for funding. The programme is funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery, with awards amounts ranging from £500 to £20,000.

Postcode Community Trust was established in 2014 to provide financial support to charities and community groups that support environmental protection, community development, engagement in sport, the advancement of health, the promotion of human rights and the prevention of poverty.

Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People's Postcode Lottery said,"Thanks to our players, Postcode Community Trust has already been able to make a number of awards to great organisations at a grassroots level. We look forward to expanding this support to the Midlands, whilst continuing the outreach in Scotland and Wales".

To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £75.6 Million for charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally, with 55p from every £2 ticket going towards them.
