Holmfirth residents are going 'Nora Batty' after an announcement today that players in the area will share September's incredible £2 Million Postcode Millions prize pot.

Players living in winning postcode sector HD9 2 will discover how much they have each won at a cheque presentation on Saturday 26th September at Holmfirth Cricket & Athletic Club in Bridge Lane.

The idyllic Yorkshire town of Holmfirth, best known for being the location of hit BBC TV series 'Last of the Summer Wine', will now be famous for its lucky prize-winning streets.

The event will see the full Postcode Millions winning postcode revealed. Players living in that full winning postcode will scoop the lion's share of the £2 Million prize money.

This is not the first time that a Yorkshire town has won the Postcode Millions this year, with players from Scarborough sharing the £2 Million prize pot back in May. Scarborough grandad, Nigel Howard, 70, was the lucky winner of £333,333 thanks to playing with winning postcode, YO11 3JG.

It's not just players in Holmfirth who are benefitting from People's Postcode Lottery. 27.5% of the cost of every ticket goes to charities across Britain and beyond. Players have raised an incredible £82.9 Million for good causes to date.

One local project that has been funded by People's Postcode Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery, is West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust, which received £5,815. The funding was used for the project 'Hospice @ Home' which provides respite care and fun activities for families with a child that has life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt is the lucky lady who will be on hand in Holmfirth to present excited players with their cheques. Judie said: "I've always been a huge fan of Last of the Summer Wine so I can't wait to get to Holmfirth and do some sightseeing. Congratulations to all of the lucky winners from Holmfirth, I can't wait to see all of their reactions when the cheques are revealed!"
