War Child Thanks Players
Players support charity's efforts to protect children in war zones
April 9th, 2014
War Child is a charity that protects children who live in the world's most dangerous war zones and have to deal with the trauma of what they have experienced. This fantastic organisation has just received £100,000 in support from players of People's Postcode Lottery to allow its extraordinary work to continue.
War Child will use this funding to reach 10,000 children over the next year and allow them to reach adulthood despite the chaos that may have darkened their childhood. The primary aims of War Child is to keep children safe, help them recover from conflict and enable them to enter into education.
Anna Crofts, Corporate Partnerships Executive at War Child, described the funding from our players as being "really remarkable". She was also keen to highlight that this support marked the start of a long-term relationship between War Child and our players which will ultimately enable the charity to change the lives of more and more children.
Rob William, CEO at War Child, said, "On behalf of War Child I would like to say a massive thank you to players of People's Postcode Lottery. The award is fantastic! We will use it in conflict zones across the world to help 10,000 children this year to stay safe and get educated. Thank you very much."
This fantastic funding from players will allow the "big ambitions" of this self-proclaimed "small charity" to become a reality.Return to news archive
