Why Volunteer At An Animal Sanctuary In Swindon?
There are numerous reasons why animals require a safe haven, whether it's to escape an abusive owner or because their natural habitat has been destroyed. The world is just as much theirs as it is ours, and it's our job to protect these creatures and provide them with the best possible future.
If you're local to Swindon, you can do your bit to help out the region's pets and wildlife by getting involved with one of the animal sanctuary charities in the area. Don't forget to sign up to People's Postcode Lottery, as you could help donate to thousands of causes like these just by playing!
Animal Sanctuary Charities In Swindon That Need Your Help
This national charity was started during the 1920s and has managed to help thousands of cats and kittens find loving homes. It runs rescue sanctuaries all over the UK, including one in Swindon, which has been operating for more than 30 years now. The organisation is one of the many great charities we support, with players of People's Postcode Lottery giving more than £3.5 Million to it in the last few years alone.
Cats Protection primarily rescues mistreated, abandoned or stray felines and gives them a new lease of life. In the Swindon centre, the organisation cares for and recuperates cats before finding them new forever homes. It relies on volunteers to help run the sanctuary and also needs teams of fosterers and sponsors who are able to look after and support the cats before they're adopted.
You could also get involved with Cats Protection by volunteering in its charity shop on Regent Circus, or by donating any unwanted items there.
The RSPCA is one of the largest and most renowned animal charities in the world. Set up in the 1820s, it now has over 150 branches around the UK, in addition to a handful of animal hospitals.
In Swindon, you'll find the North Wiltshire branch of the RSPCA nearby, as well as two charity shops. Both need volunteers to help run them so they can continue raising valuable funds to support the charity's animal sanctuaries around the country.
You could also back the RSPCA in Swindon by donating goods to these shops, by helping out with collection boxes locally, or by organising fundraising events. Spreading the word about the organisation's good work and promoting their campaigns on social media are other great ways to help.
