For a number of reasons, many people feel passionate about lending their support to an animal charity.
It could be they've received assistance or advice from charities like PDSA or Cats Protection for their own pet. Or, they're simply animal lovers concerned with the conservation of the world's animal population.
Did you know that players of People's Postcode Lottery support a wide range of wonderful charities assisting in the welfare of animals in the UK and around the world?
Here's a guide to just a few of the amazing animal charities that have received invaluable support from our players:
With a staggering £14 Million raised so far, our players are helping WWF-UK to build towards a future where people and nature can thrive together.
With your support, the charity has been able to work on projects which protect endangered wildlife, like the conservation of lion populations in Kenya's Mara ecosystem.
It has also helped in training turtle conservation groups on how best to monitor nests and protect hatchlings.
WWF-UK is part of the international WWF network, which works in over 100 countries around the world. Closer to home, WWF-UK are bringing together children, teachers and the community to look after nature in their own neighbourhoods.
With a dedication to creating a happy and healthy environment for dogs, as well as helping many to find their 'furever' home, Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity.
To date, our players have raised over £12 Million for the charity, allowing its 19 rehoming centres to care for 15,000 dogs every year.
With three centres in the UK, Battersea has come a long way since it was founded over 150 years ago.
Battersea will never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. Its expert team gives the animals the best possible chance of a fresh start in a happy new home.
Our players have supported Battersea with over £2 Million in funding. This has been vital in helping them care for the 7,000 dogs and cats they look after every year.
Guide Dogs exists to provide life-changing services to those registered blind or partially-sighted. Its long-term goal is to deliver a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence to live their life to the full.
Best known for its iconic guide dogs, the charity's work now takes on so much more.
Our players have provided the charity with over £2 Million in funding, which will help Guide Dogs embrace technology and ensure sight loss doesn't become a barrier for people to reach their full potential.
The Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) uses the power of horses to improve the lives of disabled adults and children in the UK.
With over £2 Million in funding from our players, the charity has been working with increasing numbers of people with learning or social disabilities. The opportunity to develop a positive relationship with a horse can improve their lives significantly.
The activity can help the rider physically, as well as providing a degree of independence and achievement that can go a long way.
Not only will you help inspirational causes, but you could also be in with the chance to win superb Prizes.
