05 June 2017 - B31 3JU - Birmingham - Dream Holiday
Bon Voyage Birmingham
June 5th, 2017
Three neighbours in Birmingham are celebrating today after winning £7,000 Dream Holiday prizes. The Lilley Lane residents, whose postcode is B31 3JU, won £5,000 in holiday vouchers and £2,000 in spending money for each of their tickets.
Angela Field plays with two tickets, so she won £10,000 in holiday vouchers and £4,000 in spending money. She's over the moon with the win and has lots of ideas about where to go. "It couldn't have come at a better time! My daughter is getting married next year and just mentioned last weekend that she's thinking about doing it abroad, so it would be amazing to be able to contribute a bit to that. My husband Andrew and I are also celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary soon and going to the Maldives would be a dream come true.
"Whatever I do with the vouchers, I'll definitely make sure that my daughters and my sister and her family can enjoy the prize too - £10,000 is a lot of money, so we'll be able to go on a few holidays. I'm blown away."
Jacqueline Doherty is planning a luxurious break with her husband. "I don't know what our dream destination is because we've never had the money to really consider it, so James and I will need to get our thinking caps on! We'd love to go somewhere exotic like the Dominican Republic or the Maldives – we'd never have been able to go somewhere like that without the win."
Dahlia Goulbourne is going to use the opportunity for a family holiday. "My husband and I would like to take our kids away somewhere – they're 24 and 26 now, so it would be lovely to all go somewhere together again. And then we'll maybe take a small trip ourselves too."
Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £197 Million to date for more than 2,800 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local cause that has received support from players is Birmingham St. Mary's Hospice, which was awarded £19,986 last year to provide a new home-based volunteer support programme.
