Fortune has smiled on a postcode in Salisbury this Tuesday. Our only winner, who plays with two tickets, scooped an incredible £60,000 cheque after his postcode, SP2 8FH, was drawn in today's #30KADAY Street Prize.
Over The Moon
HGV-driver Neil found out how much he'd won during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt. When he saw his £60,000 cheque, he exclaimed, "Oh amazing! That's brilliant. I can't take the smile off my face!"
The money couldn't have come at a better time for Neil and his partner Laura, who had to postpone their wedding planned for this year. Neil said, "This will really help pay for our wedding next year so Laura will be very pleased!
"We should have been getting married this year but had to push it to June next year because of COVID. This is just a weight lifted. Most things are booked but there is still a lot to pay for, but it's sorted now!
"The wedding will be in summer next year so we're hoping the weather will be nice. Laura has organised most of it, so I'm sure she will have some extra things up her sleeve now. No doubt she will surprise me along the way."
Laura was at work when Neil got the good news, but the couple will celebrate tonight when she's back. Neil said, "It's not every day someone gives you a cheque for that amount of money, is it? It's up to her what we do to celebrate. I think she will be more excited than I am! I couldn't wish for a better day."
When asked to sum up how he was feeling, Neil said, "Ecstatic and over the moon! This is like the day you dream about. You never think it's going to happen." He added, "That's absolutely brilliant. I support some local charities myself but it's hard to support everything. It's absolutely amazing to help so many through playing."
Judie McCourt said, "A huge congratulations to Neil and Laura! I hope they have the dream wedding they deserve, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that the sun shines for them on the big day."
