One winner from Scunthorpe who plays with two tickets has picked up a staggering £60,000 in today's Street Prize. The player, from postcode DN17 1AY, collected £30,000 for each of their two winning tickets. Each day of December's draws every player in one lucky postcode will collect a cheque for £30,000 for each ticket they play with.
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Judie McCourt said, "Massive congratulations to our winner in Scunthorpe! What a fantastic time to win such a large amount of money. I hope they have a wonderful Christmas and treat themselves to something nice."
With 32% of the ticket price going to charities, our players have raised a staggering £371 Million for good causes. This prize was part of a draw promoted by Royal National Institute of Blind People. A number of local causes have been supported by players, including New Life Scunthorpe. This was awarded £14,500 last year to expand its services for people who are homeless. Thanks to the funding, it has set up a training course called Opening Doors, which teaches important skills like money management.
Presenter Judie McCourt revealed today's lucky £30,000 winning postcode in a Facebook Live video earlier. As part of December's draws, each day we're announcing Street Prize winners. Check out our Facebook page at 1pm tomorrow to hear where the next big cheque is landing.
