Street Prize

Norwich On Cloud Nine

19 September 2020 - NR3 1TT - Norwich - £30,000
Judie has a terrific £30,000 cheque for each of our lucky winners in Norwich

Five fabulous neighbours from Norwich are celebrating this Saturday all thanks to the luck of their postcode. Each of our winners won a £30,000 cheque after NR3 1TT was drawn for today's Street Prize.

Tingly All Over

Gary, a carer for his sister Debbie, was quite emotional when he discovered how much he'd won during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt. He was joined on the call by his miniature Pomeranian Pixie. He exclaimed, "Wow! Thank you very, very, very much. I'm shaking and tearful. I'm not being funny but everything was going wrong for me last week, and then suddenly I get this phone call and everything has changed.

"It's just come at the right time, very much at the right time. It's the first time I've ever won this sort of serious money. I don't know if I can walk - I'm all tingly!"

Gary, who has six children, can't wait to share his good news with them. He said, "I'll be telling my children they've got some good bits of pocket money coming, they'll be well happy. I'll be taking them out tonight to celebrate if I can get in a restaurant. Me and Pixie will be celebrating, too!"

When it's safe to do so, Gary plans to take Debbie on holiday. He added, "Debbie does like Spain so maybe there, or Malta. We also used to go to Malta with my mother, so it would be nice to go back and revisit friends there."

Emotional Rollercoaster

Another of our lucky winners was William, who works for a railway operator. He was stunned with his cheque, and said, "Wow! Oh my God, seriously? Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get that. I was expecting £1,000 at the most.

"I don't know what to say. That's going to make a lot of difference to my life. I'm an average Joe and I live a simple life. I've never had that kind of money before so I'll spend it and hopefully enjoy it! I'm living in rented accommodation at the moment, so it's going to let me do some things I haven't been able to before. A holiday to Turkey might be on the cards for next year if it's possible.

"I'm recently divorced and I've got some friends who have been really good to me so it would be nice to treat them, too. I've pinched myself a few times but I still can't believe it. I think I'll go out this afternoon, have a couple of cold ones and hopefully wake up!"

Judie McCourt congratulated the winners and said, "Wow - what wonderful reactions we had from Gary and William. It was my absolute pleasure to deliver them some good news and I hope their neighbours are just as happy as they are with the windfall. Congratulations Norwich!"

Deserving Projects Across Britain

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), one of the UK's leading sight-loss charities. Players have supported RNIB with more than £2.8 Million in funding, helping the organisation create a world where there are no barriers to people with sight loss.

Lucky winners aren't the only ones who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. With 32% of the ticket price going to charities and good causes, our amazing players have raised more than £600 Million for over 8,500 deserving causes to date.
