Street Prize

Cha-Ching For Chelmsford

27 July 2020 - CM1 1DR - Chelmsford - £30,000
Today's £30,000 Street Prizes are headed to two lucky players in Chelmsford

It's a marvellous Monday for two lucky winners in Chelmsford, all thanks to their postcode. The neighbours found out that CM1 1DR has scooped each of them an incredible £30,000 per ticket in today's Street Prize. One winner bagged £30,000, with the second doubling their prize to £60,000 thanks to playing with two tickets.

These prizes are part of our special #30KADAY bonanza in which one postcode is drawn every day in July's draws, and every ticket in that postcode wins a £30,000 Street Prize.

Endless Possibilities

Sufyaan, who works in HR and recruitment, was our lucky £30,000 winner. He found out how much he had won over a video call with Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier. When Sufyaan saw the amount on the cheque, he was delighted. He said, "No way. Are you having me on?! I shouldn't swear, should I?! I genuinely can't believe it."

Sufyaan plans to put the majority of the money towards a house deposit, but also wants to have some fun - including going on a shopping spree in London and a trip of a lifetime with his mum. He said, "At 26 years old this can do so much. I'm normally an impulse buyer but I will try to be sensible. The majority of that will go towards a deposit as I'm renting at the moment.

"My mum has always wanted to take me to New York, but now maybe I can treat her and take her. Especially as she got me to sign up. She wants to go to Broadway so we can go there. It will be the trip of a lifetime.

"During lockdown I have neglected my wardrobe so I might have to go on a shopping splurge. I'll take myself down to Central London with my face mask on and buy a load of clothes!"

He only recently signed up to play the lottery, and it was all thanks to his mum. He exclaimed, "I think I've only made two payments! My mum has been doing it for years and has had a few small wins. As soon as I moved out, she said I should sign up with my own postcode. As soon as I get off this call, I'll call my mum and tell her. I think she will be really pleased for me, but I know she will be jealous. She'll be like, 'You jammy thing, you've done it for two months and look how much you've won!'"

Sufyaan added, "I've never ever had that amount of money in a bank account at one time, I don't even think my parents have. It's insane! The possibilities are endless. If you ask my friends and family they will tell you I'm never one to be speechless but I honestly don't know what to say. I'm ecstatic!"

Jeff Brazier said, "It was a pleasure to virtually reveal Sufyaan's cheque to him. It sounds like he has his mum to thank for winning so I'm sure she'll be happy with his holiday plans for them! A big congratulations to our other winner too. I hope they're just as pleased as Sufyaan was with their prize."
