July's draws are a super summer extravaganza of Street Prizes. With our #30KADAY festivities we have happy players celebrating £30,000 wins every day. Today's Street Prize has made six neighbours in Aldershot with postcode GU12 4UQ jump for joy.
Lots To Celebrate
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier caught up with one of our winners, Jim, over video call. "I got the post and saw a big gold envelope, I couldn't believe it," said Jim, an engineering lecturer. "I ran upstairs and asked my daughter if it was real! It's such a strange feeling to win something like this."
His wife Sue, a doctors' surgery administrator, was also in disbelief. She said, "I didn't and couldn't believe him - he's notorious for his jokes. It was only when I got home and saw the cheque for myself that I could finally believe it."
The couple, who recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary, will mark their 60th birthdays next year with an island getaway. Jim said, "We haven't had a holiday in a few years, and we love the Greek islands, that's where I want to go, and the money will help make it even more special.
"We'll also treat our daughters and grandchildren. We've only told our children so far, and they couldn't quite believe the good news either. Lots to celebrate."
Jeff Brazier added, "A big congratulations to Jim and all our other lucky Aldershot winners. What a fantastic added surprise for Jim and Sue's wedding anniversary, I'm sure they'll have a fantastic trip abroad next year."
Deserving Projects Around The World
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Unicef UK, which has received more than £8.1 Million in player funding to help keep children across the world safe when war or disaster strikes.
Players aren't the only ones who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. 32% of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our players, over £500 Million has been raised for more than 7,500 deserving projects around the world.
