Our players' support helps...
Funding local access to over 85 nature reserves throughout Yorkshire and a varied events programme so that everyone can get out and experience wild Yorkshire for themselves. People's Postcode Lottery also helps us to provide support to over 600 volunteers working in wildlife conservation throughout Yorkshire.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is a local charity
which has been working for over 65 years to protect and conserve Yorkshire's
wild places and wildlife for all to enjoy. Through the support of our members
and volunteers we remain a local charity working for local communities and
wildlife.
We see
the future of wildlife conservation as a Living Landscape, which we are working
to create with the support of thousands of others. Within this Living Landscape
wildlife will thrive in wild places running through both rural and urban areas
of Yorkshire. By identifying key areas to protect for wildlife, improving and
joining them up across the county in partnership with other land-owners we can
create an inspiring, accessible landscape which is full of wildlife and rich in
opportunities for learning and sustainable economic development. We are also
fighting for Yorkshire's Living Seas – working together to restore the North
Sea back to good health.
Our work inspires many children, families and others as we help reconnect them with their local environment. Head of Fundraising and Communications Jonathan Leadley said:

would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who plays the People’s
Postcode Lottery. The significant funding we receive goes towards
enhancing our Nature Reserves for wildlife, inspiring and educating children through Wildlife Watch and supporting our Marine Awareness and conservation work.”
