Individuals and Small Groups
People’s Postcode Lottery uses images, video and sound recordings of winners and their friends and family to create marketing and publicity content to share insights about the lotteries vision and our player’s experiences. The content will be shared with third parties in the media and with the Novamedia group of lotteries where it may also be used in internal reports, publicity materials and for public relations. Where we feature individuals or smaller family/friend groups the legal basis for our processing the content is consent.
Large Groups
Please note that group filming and photography featuring groups rather than individual winners is a legitimate interest activity, we do not ask for consent when we film people in groups although we always make it clear to participants that we are filming and that they should avoid being filmed if they do not want to be featured
Data Sharing
We will share the content with third parties to publicise the good work of the Lottery and the wins enjoyed by our players. The third parties will include news agencies, our marketing partners, journalists, and broadcasters. Our broadcast content is also reviewed by our broadcast compliance partner Clearcast who verify that consent for your contribution has been obtained.
If you withdraw consent, we will cease using your contribution and advise any third parties with whom your data had been shared that your consent has been withdrawn. While we will not further process your data after consent has been withdrawn, please note that withdrawal of consent will not affect the legality of sharing which took place in reliance upon a previously valid consent. We will make reasonable endeavours to advise those with whom your data was shared of your withdrawal of consent. Please note that some controllers may rely upon other legal bases or exemptions for their processing activity which might mean that it is difficult to limit further processing of content that has been publicised.
We may also share your data with our third-party suppliers who help in the preparation of marketing and publicity content. These suppliers include marketing service providers, marketing agencies, social media platforms, website hosting, image management systems and transcription services. Data Retention
Where you ask us to stop processing your data we will do so as soon as we are aware your consent has been withdrawn however some data will continue to be stored for regulatory and compliance reasons in line with our retention policy.
