An amazing £3 Million prize pot for players of People's Postcode Lottery will land in London for the first time ever!
SW3 5 has been revealed as the winning postcode sector for the coveted Postcode Millions prize, which is given away every month.
On Saturday 1st October, all the winners will be invited to attend Battersea Dogs & Cats Home on Battersea Park Road for a special event to find out exactly how much they have won. The full winning postcode will also be unveiled.
As a supported charity, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has received £850,000 in funding to date from players.
Liz Tait, Battersea's Director of Fundraising, said, "Battersea receives no government funding, so we are incredibly grateful for the support from players of People's Postcode Lottery which helps us to care for over 8,000 dogs and cats every year.
"This year we've been able to recruit valuable volunteers and foster carers to look after our animals thanks to players' generous support."
A minimum of 30% of the cost of a £10 monthly subscription goes to good causes across Great Britain and internationally. Players have so far raised an incredible £142 Million for charities.
Another local project that has received support from players near the winning postcode sector is The Passage, which was awarded £20,000 this year to build a roof garden for the homeless. The space will provide a place of learning, contemplation and socialising for clients, staff, and volunteers.
Jeff Brazier, People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador, said, "It's just so exciting that the Postcode Millions has landed in London for the first time. I'll be looking forward to meeting the winners and handing out some big cheques at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Good luck to everyone!"
