Wonderful Winter Walks

The Ramblers' Festival of Winter Walks is giving people the chance to enjoy winter landscapes

Player-supported charity The Ramblers strives to help everyone, everywhere, enjoy walking and protects the places where we all love to walk.

Walking is very straightforward, but the benefits are endless. It's good for your health, it lifts your mood, it's a sociable activity you can do with family or friends and it helps you connect to nature.

The Ramblers' upcoming Festival of Winter Walks is offering a selection of free festive walks to give everyone the chance to enjoy the wonderful winter landscape in good company, and to make new friends at a time of year when many people can feel lonely or isolated. 96% of groups surveyed say walking improves and creates friendships and makes connections with new communities.

In the last year, 53,556 Ramblers group-led walks happened around the country, benefiting the health and wellbeing of those who took part. Group walk participant Aimee spoke of her experience. She said, "As soon as I joined that group, my confidence just soared, and it wasn't long before I was leading walks myself. The people in my group are so lovely and they have given me the confidence to do extra things that I just didn't have before."

To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised over £5.9 Million for The Ramblers.
