Cash Drops In Immingham
A lucky postcode in Immingham has left five players richer after a visit from People's Postcode Lottery. Their postcode, DN40 2JJ, was drawn as a winner in one of this weekend's two Saturday Street Prizes.
One lucky winner, Tony Kemp, plays with two tickets and has won a whopping £50,000. It turns out Tony isn't the only person in his family to have won the Saturday Street Prize.
"My brother-in-law won in April last year, and his win inspired me to sign up to People's Postcode Lottery as well. I started playing from May 2015 and a year later, I've won £50,000 as well! We've certainly got luck running in the family."
Tony said, "When Judie pulled out my cheque for £50,000, I was over the moon. To be honest, it is a really emotional experience to find out you've won this kind of money.
"We were planning on going on holiday, and this will make it much easier. We just bought our house in January and now we are going to do up our back garden. I'd like to put in a decking and a hot tub and maybe a summer house. They were dreams and now they are a reality."
Café worker Bernadette Lord started playing in 2014 and has now won £25,000.
"When I first found out I won £25,000, I thought it was a joke. Even now I am still in a state of shock. You just think to yourself that it will never happen to me. We were going out on Saturday night anyway, so I think we might have a few extra drinks to celebrate now!"
People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador, Judie McCourt, said, "I can't believe a little over a year ago, Danyl was out delivering a £50,000 cheque to Tony's brother-in-law. More and more of our winners know someone else that has won People's Postcode Lottery!"
