A grandmother in Isleworth got an early Christmas present when she won £30,000 after her lucky postcode, TW7 6XB, was announced as the winner of Friday's Street Prize. Each day of December's draws every player from one lucky postcode takes home a cheque for £30,000 for each ticket they play with.

People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier was on hand to deliver the prize to Shirley, who was the only winner playing with the postcode.

Jeff delivered a special Christmas cracker containing the surprise cheque to lucky winner Shirley in her home on Church Street, which is just a stone's throw away from the River Thames.

Shirley, who has eight grandchildren, said, "I'm blown away. It's a huge amount of money for someone like me, it's mind-bending! I feel like I'm in a dream, and I don't want to wake up. When I first heard that I'd won, I thought the whole thing was a joke. I thought it couldn't be happening to me, because I'd never won anything before.

"It's the most amazing surprise, and just in time for Christmas! It completely silenced me, which is very difficult to do! I'm looking forward to getting my balcony re-done, as it needs new flooring and a new door put in, but most of the money will go towards my grandchildren. There's enough so that I can give them all a nice chunk.

"I started playing People's Postcode Lottery about eighteen months ago. I've always supported charities, and this is a great way to raise money for good causes - it's a win-win situation."

With 32% of the ticket price going to charities, our players have raised a staggering £371 Million for good causes. This prize was part of a draw promoted by British Red Cross.
