Prize Surprise For Plymouth

21 May 2022 - PL1 5BS - Plymouth - £30,000

Three neighbours from Plymouth are celebrating today thanks to the luck of their postcode. Each of our winners scooped a £30,000 prize after their postcode, PL1 5BS, was drawn in Saturday's Street Prize.

Chuffed To Bits

One of our winners, Denise, and her husband Warren, were 'chuffed to bits' when Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson revealed their cheque. Denise said, "It's been a bit of a tough few years for everybody. So, this is just a real bonus."

The couple plans to share some of their windfall with their children. The grandmother-of-four said, "We have two grown-up children with their own families too. We'll make sure we all have fun with it."

A holiday is also on the cards. Denise explained, "We were chatting last night, and Warren said he'd quite fancy going to Austria to see Andre Rieu. So, we'll probably go and enquire about that."

Warren served in the Royal Marines for eight years before an accident left him paraplegic. Denise said, "We've used charities in the past so to be able to give back is great."

The couple planned to celebrate their win with pizza at home with their family.

Danyl Johnson said, "The winners in Plymouth have been brilliant, I'm thrilled for them! I'm sure they'll enjoy spending the cash and I hope they celebrate tonight."

Good Causes Everywhere

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Postcode International Trust, which provides regular grant funding to organisations that work to alleviate poverty, hunger and enable food security. Supported charities include Action Against Hunger, ActionAid and British Red Cross.

With 33% of the ticket price going to charities and good causes, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised more than £900 Million for over 9,000 projects and groups across the world.

Fantastic Prizes are announced every single day! It couldn't be easier to sign up - it only takes two minutes, and it might be the best decision you ever make. If you're not sure how to play, you can learn more about us in our How It Works guide.
