Street Prize

Hooray For Hadfield

25 June - SK13 2ET - Hadfield - £25,000

Four players of People's Postcode Lottery are over the moon after SK13 2ET was drawn as the winning postcode for one of the two Saturday Street Prizes today.

Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt found her way to Higher Barn Road in Hadfield to deliver £100,000 in prizes.

Bernard Redhead was left ecstatic after winning £25,000 even though he only started playing in April. Bernard said, "I'm so grateful, I've only been playing since April and now my postcode has come up. When the cheque came out and I kept seeing more and more zeros I couldn’t believe it at all. This is the first time we have ever won anything.

"In March, we bought a motorhome so we'll be spending more time out there now. We'll be taking it to France or Spain!"

Another lucky winner to find himself £25,000 richer was Stephen Jones, who signed up in March. Stephen said, "I'm feeling very excited. We are going on holiday now to France and we can do some serious celebrating!

"When Judie pulled out my cheque I was shocked that I'd won £25,000. I have only been playing for two months! We signed up in March and now we're £25,000 richer!

"My wife works with children with special needs and we like that playing People's Postcode Lottery supports local charities as well as larger ones. If people are not playing, I would tell them to sign up. I've told my two sons to start playing right now. Your postcode could be next."

Tracy Horner also received a visit from Judie. Tracy said, "I felt sick at first to be honest. I wasn't expecting nearly that much. This is the first time I've won anything and its £25,000. It is so easy, you just play with your postcode."

Judie also presented a gold envelope to Katy Cooper. Katy said, "The whole day was a lovely experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life. I was left speechless and very shocked when Judie pulled out that £25,000 cheque.

"This win isn't just mine but will be enjoyed by my husband and two boys as well. We'll decide as a family how to enjoy it."

Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt said, "What an amazing surprise for these lucky winners. I can't believe that Bernard and Stephen signed up so recently and are both now £25,000 richer. I love meeting our lucky players and I can't wait to see where I’m off to next."

As a charity lottery, players have raised over £124 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A local charity close to Hadfield supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery is The Seashell Trust. It provides education and care for young people aged two to 25 with profound and multiple learning disabilities and additional complex needs. The Seashell Trust used their £12,000 award to construct two sensory rooms in two of the new residential houses they are building.

This weekend's other Saturday Street Prize landed in Kirkmuirhill.
