Postcode Millions
Hooray For Hove
A community in Hove shared £3 Million this weekend, thanks to their postcode getting lucky with People's Postcode Lottery.
At the event at Hove Lawns, winners playing in postcode sector BN3 5 were presented with cheques by People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier.
One lucky local resident who played with the full winning postcode, BN3 5QF, won the lion's share of the prize pot - a whopping £257,387. Unfortunately, they weren't available to attend the party, but their prize money will be paid directly into their bank account. Three other players picked up £32,778 cheques. More winning neighbours walked away with £21,852 and £10,926 prizes.
Adrian Bradley, a construction worker from the seaside town, said that his £10,926 win was a dream come true. Adrian said, "I've been saving for a trip to Australia and Japan for years so this has well and truly sealed the deal. It'll be the trip of a lifetime and that's all thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery! I don't know if any of my neighbours on the street play but now I'll be telling them all to make sure they sign up! It's an incredible feeling that's great to share with the people you live beside."
British Airways cabin crew Daniel Reynolds discovered he was a winner whilst he was working in Los Angeles. Daniel said, "My husband, Niall, sent me a message between my flights, letting me know that my invite to the Postcode Millions had arrived. It's been a really exciting week, waiting to find out what we've won."
After discovering his £10,926 win at the event today, Daniel said, "It's Niall's 40th birthday next month and we have just celebrated our first wedding anniversary. We are heading to Versailles on holiday and this win means we can treat ourselves to a really special tour. We also have our sights set on getting another puppy."
Daniel's husband Niall added, "I'm a big believer in fate. We had a new boiler installed this week and we discovered the cupboard had money spiders in it - perhaps it was a sign!"
Amanda Norgate, a school administrator, said the win couldn't have come at a better time for her and her family. She said, “My husband hasn't been working lately so this money has come at a really good time for us. We'll finally be able to take our family on a holiday to Turkey and I'm sure we'll be able to come up with a plan for the rest! It's been a rollercoaster couple of weeks waiting to find out exactly how much we've won and I still can't believe it. It's been such an experience coming to the event today with all my neighbours and getting to share it with everyone. Everyone's going home with such a difference made to their lives."
As a charity lottery, People's Postcode Lottery players support more than 2,800 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. With a minimum of 30% going to charity, players have raised over £212 Million so far.
People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier met the winners. Jeff said, "What a fantastic day we had in Hove handing out those cheques. It was a pleasure to meet all our lovely winners and see so many neighbours winning together. There were some absolutely delighted faces - congratulations to you all!"
