Dunfermline £30,000 Prize

A pair of lifelong friends are celebrating together after each winning £30,000 on the Postcode Lottery - despite never knowing the other was a long-term player.

09 June 2026

Neighbours Harry Wood and Simon Cameron were born just two months apart, sharing classes, playing football and going for after-school nature walks together while growing up on the outskirts of Dunfermline. But after six decades of friendship, neither was aware the other was also playing the Postcode Lottery until they met with the other winners in their street to see their prizes revealed.

They were two of six winners as KY12 0PB was announced as the winner of our £30,000 Prize on Sunday 7 June.

Harry, a retired seaman with the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy, said: "Simon and I were born and bred here. When we were kids I'd trot along the road and get Simon or his brother George to go out and play, so it's been a true lifelong friendship.

"But I had no idea he was playing the Postcode Lottery until my wife Cathy saw him walking down the road and said 'oh, Simon's won as well'."

Retired baker Simon, who has lived in the same house his entire life, admitted he was speechless when he opened his golden envelope along with Harry and the other winners.

"To share the win with friends like Harry and other neighbours just makes it even better."

Neighbour Tricia Piggott also landed £30,000 and shared her joy with her mother Dawn who watched her receive the happy news via Tricia's video doorbell.

"My mum's on holiday so she was watching live on my video doorbell and saw everything except the prize amount."

"When I came in the gate and held up the cheque she said 'Oh my goodness'."

Over the moon

Along the road, Marie McGuinness was stunned when Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt gave the winners the signal to open their gold envelopes.

Marie said: "When I received the phone call to say I'd won, I dared to think it might be as much as £15,000 or £20,000. I'm over the moon for me and all my neighbours who also won."

Deserving causes

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Global Trust which supports charities such as Sightsavers and WaterAid.

Players aren't the only ones who benefit from Postcode Lottery. A minimum of 30% of each ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.8 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
