Twice as nice

A person in a pink hoodie holds two large Postcode Lottery cheques, each showing a prize of £166,666, standing outdoors with greenery in the background.

Abbie West-Long spent years dreaming of moving to British Columbia, after she toured Canada with partner Daryl Marlow and they fell head over heels for its spectacular scenery.

Abbie, a childcare volunteer for Barnardo's, was the biggest winner today because she plays with two tickets - and that has brought forward a move the couple had pencilled in for 2028.

Abbie said: “We've literally just had our dreams come true. That's a new life and a new start out in Canada... I do feel like I'm dreaming because this isn't something that happens to me. I usually expect bad news."

Abbie was among five neighbours sharing £1 Million in Cowes, Isle of Wight, after PO31 7LR landed the Postcode Lottery’s Millionaire Street prize today.

Each ticket was worth £166,666, and Abbie was the only winner playing with two. It's the fourth of eight postcodes winning £1 Million this week, with a new Millionaire Street prize winner announced each day from October 24 until 31.

Price is Wight

Another winner, Mary Bowdery, could also hardly believe her luck after scooping £166,666.

Mary, who has lived on the Isle of Wight for five years, said: “It’s a bit of a dream come true. I just don’t really believe it’s happened. I’ve never won more than forty quid on anything. I don’t win raffles, don’t win bingo.”

With Christmas approaching, Mary is already dreaming of treating her two nephews to memorable experiences, while finally making her own long-held ambition a reality.

She said: “For many years, I’ve always wanted to go to Kenya to do a big safari and see the Big Five. It’s just something that hasn’t felt like a possibility until now.”

Top gear

Across the road, Suzie Wheatley has had one of those weeks that you dream about, as her husband surprised her with her 'dream car' just days before her £166,666 win.

Suzie is planning to return the favour just a week after hubby Chris bought her a grey Suzuki Jimny.

Suzie said: “We went on holiday in Cyprus, and we hired a car, and they brought out a Jimny. We drove around in it and from then I said, ‘this is my dream car’. And now I have my dream car, which Chris bought for me last week, not knowing anything about the Postcode Lottery win... Yeah, it’s been a very, very surprising week. The best week ever.”

The school contract cleaner now wants to make Chris’ own motoring dream come true by treating him to a Tesla Model 3 Performance.

On the house

Mandy Kennedy plans to make her daughter's dream of owning a home come true after also banking £166,666.

She was left stunned by the six-figure windfall, but her first thought was how she could use it to help her daughter Chelsea get onto the property ladder.

Mandy said: “You enter thinking a win would be nice, but you really don’t think it’s ever going to happen, but it has. It’s amazing and life changing."

She added: “I’d like to get my daughter on the property ladder. There’s definitely enough there for a deposit."

Deserving causes

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Culture Trust which supports organisations including the Youth Music, Science Museum Group and Big Noise.

Players aren't the only ones who benefit from Postcode Lottery. A minimum of 30% of each ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.8 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
