Glad Tidings In East Riding

Players in the East Riding postcode sector of YO25 4 will share an incredible £3 Million prize pot
£3 Million has landed in East Riding today in our second May Postcode Millions

The East Riding postcode sector of YO25 4 has today in a Facebook Live video been revealed as the winner of this month's second Postcode Millions £3 Million prize. Everyone who plays People's Postcode Lottery with a ticket in the winning postcode sector will pocket a share of the multi-million-pound prize.

Winners will find out exactly how much they've won when they're presented with their cheque at a special event, taking place at Driffield Showground on Saturday 1st June. The full winning postcode will also be announced with those playing with it claiming the biggest sums of money.

As well as finding out how much they've won, players will also get to see how their support is making a real difference to charities and good causes on their doorstep, as well as further afield.

People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Judie McCourt, who will be presenting the lucky winners with their cheques at the East Riding Postcode Millions event, said, "Huge congratulations to all our lucky winners playing with East Riding's YO25 4! I'm looking forward to meeting our winners, announcing the full winning postcode and, of course, to my favourite part of the event - presenting the cheques and revealing how much they've won."

With at least 32% of the ticket price going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have already raised over £427 Million for thousands of charities and good causes, big and small. This prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of People's Postcode Trust.

Along with Postcode Community Trust and Postcode Local Trust, People's Postcode Trust is a grant-giving trust funded by players of People's Postcode Lottery. Last year, these trusts funded small-scale, local and volunteer projects with support totalling over £8 Million. These grants reached communities across the country - including good causes in and around Yorkshire and East Riding.

Yorkshire Esk Rivers Trust received £12,706 for their What's in your river? project. This funding was used to help engage communities, volunteers and local schools in caring for and better understanding the health of the river. A grant of £2,000 went to Thwing and Octon Parish Council to bring Thwing Mere - a local green space - back to life. The local-led initiative saw the clearing of overgrown vegetation, reinstating of chalk footpaths and the planting of a small meadow area for the benefit and enjoyment of the surrounding community.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is another charity to benefit from the support of players. In total, players have raised over £9 Million for The Wildlife Trusts collectively, including Yorkshire. This funding has helped launch a local education programme for primary school age children, helping to engage and inspire the next generation with wildlife and their environment.
