Feeling Swell In Glapwell

30 April - S44 5NB - Glapwell - £30,000

A Glapwell resident is celebrating after her postcode, S44 5NB, was drawn as the winner of the second Street Prize of the weekend, landing her a whopping £30,000.

Harly Smith said the win was still sinking in, but that it was going to make a big difference to her family. "It's been a really full-on year. We moved house just over a year ago and I had a new baby girl not long after moving in, so we haven't had a chance to do anything to the house yet. The money will make it a lot easier to do it up a bit.

"We're definitely going to have a family holiday too. My husband Shane and I have a seven-year-old daughter as well, and this will be our first chance for all four of us to go away together. We have lots of ideas of where to go, so we're going to have to spend some time thinking about it!"

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "I've had a fantastic time meeting Harly and surprising her with her cheque. It sounds like she's got some exciting plans for her and her family so I hope they all have a great time."

To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £190 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A local cause that has received support from players is Chesterfield Timebank, which was awarded £8,077 last year for a project to tackle mental health issues.

There was also a very happy player in Manchester this weekend, as M14 6FD was drawn as the winner of the Saturday Street Prize, and in Kirkcaldy, over 700 players shared a whopping £3 Million prize pot.
