Winning Sum For Brixham
31 December 2017 - TQ5 8QG - Brixham - £30,000
A ferryman from Brixham is floating on air after winning £60,000 on New Year's Eve, along with two of his neighbours who landed £30,000 each.
Their postcode, TQ5 8QG, came up in Sunday's Street Prize, on the final day of 2017.
Steve, from Copythorne Close, works on the route between Dartmouth and Kingswear. He doubled his cash prize by playing with two tickets.
Speaking after his win, Steve said, "My wife Donna had no idea I played with two tickets so that was a complete surprise for her. We've been planning a big extension for a year and we had to remortgage the house to do it, so this win will help a lot.
"We'll go on a nice holiday too. Donna and I have both said how much we'd like to visit India and now we can afford to go."
Steve's neighbour Ria also scooped £30,000. The self-employed therapeutic youth worker said, "It's wonderful to win with other people on the street. We've lived here for eight years and it's such a close-knit community."
Ria, who has three sons, says winning such a large amount of money is an exciting way to bring in the New Year.
"We really want to do up the house and this win is the final piece of the jigsaw. We'll be able to get a new kitchen and conservatory."
A third winner on the street, who also won £30,000, was unavailable to receive their cheque from Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson.
Congratulating the winners, Danyl said, "What a way to start the New Year with thousands of pounds in the bank. With £130 Million in prizes in 2018, why not sign up to play People's Postcode Lottery? We could be knocking on your door very soon."
£255 Million has been raised to date by players of People's Postcode Lottery for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local group that has received support from players is Torbay Advice Network, which was awarded more than £1,400 this year to provide tailored support to vulnerable people.
There were also festive winners elsewhere, as one happy player scooped £30,000 in Saturday's Street Prize, one lucky winner picked up £10,000 in holiday vouchers as well as £4,000 in spending money thanks to the Dream Holiday Prize, and six neighbours won £25,000 cheques with one winner also diving away a brand new BMW.
