Broughton Astley Millionaire Street
Stunned Lorraine Cokien forgot to change her address with the Postcode Lottery after moving home last year - then remembered a few weeks ago and won £333,333
13 June 2026
Lorraine downsized to a semi in Broughton Astley last October - but failed to update her details with the lottery. But the great-gran finally got round to it a few weeks ago - despite players being able to use any postcode.
Mum-of-two Lorraine shared £1 Million with two other neighbours in Broughton Astley after LE9 6RQ landed today's Millionaire Street prize.
Making moves
)
The retired Next Directory and NHS worker said:
“I moved to this address last October, but I didn’t change my details with the lottery right away. I suddenly thought I needed to change it and did it in March or April. Just as well!”
She added: "Oh my God! It’s just unreal... but it’s real. I never thought anything like this would happen to me."
Well deserved
)
Daughter Zoe Cokien who watched her mum’s win, chipped in: "It’s well deserved"
And Lorraine added: “I’ll spoil the family. Definitely a new car, and I’d love a holiday. I’ll be arranging a holiday at some point.”
Lorraine - who has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren - said she was delighted to win with her neighbours and that charities also benefit.
She said: “It’s good to win with other neighbours. I’ve not been here long, so this is quite a nice icebreaker.
"From a charity point of view, you get asked to contribute to a lot. But that’s what the Postcode Lottery does. I know that the money I spend every month goes to a lot of different charities and helps a lot of people."
Local charities have also been given a boost following the Millionaire Street prize landing on their doorstep.
And one local organisation, Leicester Animal Aid, has received £75,000 thanks to funds raised by Postcode Lottery players. The charity, which was set up in 1956, provides care for up to 34 dogs and on average 40 cats and kittens at any one time, in purpose-built, quality accommodation.
Fundraising manager Helen Wilber said: "The staff and volunteer team at Leicester Animal Aid would like to say a huge thank you to Postcode Lottery players for £75,000 of incredible and unexpected funding.
Deserving causes
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Planet Trust which supports charities such as Blue Marine Foundation, Cool Earth and The Wildlife Trusts.
Players aren't the only ones who benefit from Postcode Lottery. A minimum of 30% of each ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.8 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
