Beeby Millionaire Street

John Deacon bought a second People's Postcode Lottery ticket, then discovered he had signed up for a third by mistake - and won a whopping £600,000.

Biker John had wanted an extra ticket after playing with one for years - but accidentally got TWO instead.

John revealed: "I put on a second ticket to add to the first one, but what I did was order two more by mistake."

"It’s a seriously happy mistake, and an extra bonus I didn’t know I had."

He added: "I can do a lot of things, a lot of good things, with this. I would have been happy with one cheque."

John shared £1 Million with two other neighbours in Beeby after LE7 3BJ landed today's Millionaire Street prize. Every ticket was worth £200,000, with John tripling his pot with three.

It’s the second postcode to win £1 Million this week, following on from winners yesterday in Heathfield. Five more winning postcodes will be announced until Sunday 23 November.

And John believes the win could be down to his beloved mum Iris, who passed away six years ago to the day.

He said: "This is an emotional day. I was mum’s carer for 20 years. She died in my arms. I think this is a gift from my mum. She would be buzzing because she’d know that I’d buy her a new car.

"She's definitely looking down on me, sitting on that cloud. Thanks mum!"

John was seriously injured in a road accident in 2018 when a driver came out of a side street and hit him as he rode his Triumph Legend TT, leaving him with a shattered left leg.

But the incident hasn’t put him off bikes, and now he plans to add to the collection - which includes a Kawasaki Drifter and a Triumph Thunderbird Sport - at his rural semi.

He said: “I have several dream bikes that I want, including one that’s not made any more - a Triumph Hurricane. You'll pay about £15,000.”

He added: "I’d also like a decent motor. A Nissan Juke. I’ll get a brand new one."

Through the wall, Andrew Bonnington ignored wife Diane when she told him to cancel their Postcode Lottery subscription - and won £200,000.

Nurse Diane said: “I told him not to play, but he proved me wrong. I said to him quite a few times, 'why are you still doing this?' I just thought it was something we didn't need."

Andrew said: "I'm glad I never stopped it. It's going to make a difference."

The couple, who have three children and seven grandchildren, said the win has come after a year of heartbreak. They lost Diane's mum Ann Bishop last December - then her dad John passed away a week after the funeral.

Tearful Diane said: "We’ve had such a difficult time lately. This will go a long way to helping.

"I’m hoping mum and dad have given us something positive. I'm hoping it's them looking after us."

Farm worker Andrew, who tends a flock of around 200 sheep, added: "We've got two houses to do up: ours and Diane's parents' farmhouse. We can get them done now."

"I’m hoping mum and dad have given us something positive there. I’m hoping it’s them looking after us."
