Film buff Rheanne Thomas will take her family on a Lord of the Rings tour of New Zealand - after scooping an incredible £416,949 on People’s Postcode Lottery.

Rheanne and her seven siblings regularly settle down for all-night LOTR movie marathons and have always dreamed of walking in the footsteps of hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins.

Now the excited marketing and admin worker, of Leicester, is planning the trip Down Under after being left stunned by her whopping win.

Rheanne said: "The main thing I’d love to do with the money is travel and make some amazing memories for my family. See the world. I love Leicester, but there are lots of places I want to see.

"I’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand and see the sites of Lord Of The Rings. It’s a family affair. The number of times we’ve done marathons watching all the films… sleepless nights watching the extended editions in chronological order.

"I know my family would absolutely love that trip. The landscapes alone will be incredible to see and just walking in the characters’ footsteps.

“Me and my family are very nerdy; movie buffs and musical buffs.

"We’re a big family; very loud and very fun and very close. We see each other all the time and they’re a massive part of my life. I’m excited for all the things we can do together. Our life is going to be so different after this. They’re all going to be gobsmacked."

Rheanne shared £1 Million with another neighbour in Leicester after LE3 0SE landed today's weekly Millionaire Street prize.

Every ticket was worth £416,949. The rest of the prize was shared by 276 players in the wider postcode sector of LE3 0.

Rheanne, who lives with her pet cat Carl, was left stunned when lottery ambassador Judie McCourt revealed her whopping cheque.

She said: "You're joking. No! Oh my God! Are you serious? This isn’t a prank? I don't know what to say. Thank you so much. Oh my gosh!

"I’m looking at the number, but it doesn’t look like a real number.

"I haven’t told anyone about this. To be honest, I didn’t quite believe it was happening.

"I’m so excited. It didn’t even cross my mind that, one, it was possible and, two, the amount. That really has changed my life."

When asked if she could visualise her new bank balance, she added: "It’s a darn sight healthier with that in it!

"It’s one of those things where you hope for it. It just comes out of your bank every month… easy peasy."

Now she’s hoping to push her passport beyond the New Zealand trip, get on the property ladder - and pimp up Christmas.

She said: "I’m going to travel for starters. It got to the point that my passport had run out and I didn’t realise. It had been that long since I’d been anywhere.

"I’ve said to friends that live abroad that I would go and see them and now I can. They live in Barcelona and Australia. And I’d love to go to Peru and see Machu Picchu."

Rheanne could plough ahead with plans to buy her own home. She said: "Oh my God, yes. I have been thinking too small. The idea of having a place of my own and settling is massive."

Rheanne told how she has been a keen volunteer all her life. She helped at a local ADHD charity which had been supporting her brother and at a local radio station.

She is now encouraging others to join Postcode Lottery to support local, national and international charities.

And she was delighted to learn that charities in the Leicester area have benefitted from her win.

One organisation, Home-Start Horizons, has received £60,000. And it takes them past a significant milestone – marking £1 Million officially being awarded to the charity, thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Home-Start Horizons is the flagship building for the charity, which was founded in 1973 and now has 175 working areas across the UK. The charity has built on a network of expert staff and highly trained volunteers offering specialist parenting support and emotional advice.

Through early years support and various parenting programmes, Home-Start use their expertise to make children's formative years the best they can by strengthening family relationships with their children and widening their links within the community. Stuart Sullivan, Home-Start Horizons CEO, said: "Home-Start Horizons is incredibly grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for their generous support, which will help us make a real difference to families in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland at a time of pressing need."
