Hyde Millionaire Street
Overjoyed Lauren Conroy bagged £47,619 with the Postcode Lottery and recounted how a previous win had given her an engagement to remember.
20 June 2026
Lauren and partner Connor jetted to Thailand where he'd planned to pop the question on a Phuket beach. But while they were there, they found out they’d won £1,000 with the Postcode Lottery - so Connor upgraded his romantic proposal to a sunset trip on a yacht.
Now the couple, who have wed in the four years since, are all at sea again after collecting another cash windfall.
Nurse Connor said when he saw his wife’s cheque: “You're joking me, aren't you? For us, in our situation, this will be life changing... The first win on its own was enough, but to win this as well..."

Teacher Lauren said: “I’ve been choking on anxiety all day. I had to teach English and maths in the morning. I don’t know how I got through it. I can't put into words how much this is going to mean to us.”
Now the family are intent on making new memories with their win. Lauren said: “A nice holiday for us and the four kids... We've always wanted to go to Mexico."
Lauren shared £1 Million with 17 other neighbours in Hyde after SK14 4EQ landed the Postcode Lottery's weekly Millionaire Street prize today. Every ticket was worth £47,619, but one player won £142,857 with three tickets and another won £95,238 with two.
Over the road, bubbly Angie Newman whooped with joy when her prize was revealed - and now she plans to help the family. Quantity surveyor Angie, supported by plumber husband Mark said: “God, I'm shaking. That's brilliant. It makes a big difference."

"There are quite a few things going on at the moment. We've got three daughters between us. One is expecting a baby next month, another is renovating a house nearby and the third one is getting married next year. This is probably good timing for all of them!"
Up the street, Andrea Gilmore picked up two cheques - one for her and one for plastics firm employee husband David who was at work.

Andrea said: “I’ll probably spend it on a holiday next year. Possibly New York as that’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to go.
“I’ve got a bucket list, but it’s all in my head. I’ve always wanted to live by the sea and try skydiving!”
Making A Difference
The neighbours were all united in their passion for supporting charities at home and abroad.
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Community Trust. Players aren't the only ones who benefit from Postcode Lottery. A minimum of 30% of each ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our wonderful players, more than £1.8 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
One organisation, Diversity Matters North West, has been awarded £50,000 thanks to funds raised by players. The Hyde-based award-winning independent charity works to combat health inequalities and social exclusion - and to promote community cohesion.
Lina Patel MBE, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: "Thanks to Postcode Lottery players, we can continue to support local people, reduce inequalities and empower individuals to build brighter, healthier futures."
