Smiling people stand outside houses, raising £125,000 Postcode Lottery winner cheques above their heads.

Sutton Millionaire Street

A last-minute decision has landed a building surveyor with a life-changing £125,000 Postcode Lottery prize - after he signed up on deadline day

Last-minute decision

Smiling man raises fist while holding a £125,000 Postcode Lottery cheque outside a brick house.

"I don’t know what to think. It’s incredible. It really is."

Ben Haynes had been urged to join by his girlfriend's dad but kept putting it off. Then, on 31 January he finally bought a ticket. He has big plans for the winnings.

"We just want to go everywhere in the world, so this will definitely help us go to as many places as we can. That’s the main one for us."

Ben was among eight neighbours celebrating when CB6 2GL landed today's Millionaire Street. Each ticket was worth £125,000.

Travel plans

Smiling man and woman pose on a street with a £125,000 Postcode Lottery cheque beside a playful golden retriever lying on its back.

Megan and Ben also have a year of celebrations coming up, and are planning a return to Venice.

Ben said: "We went for our first anniversary as a couple to Venice and then got engaged there. We love it."*

Celebrating together

Seven smiling people outdoors hold up large £125,000 prize cheques, celebrating in front of red-brick houses.

Other winners on the street included Amy Wheeler, Katie Martin, Florentina Violeta Nica, Simon Pearce and Jackie Morris.

And all the neighbours were overjoyed to hear that their street’s win means local charities have also benefitted.

And one organisation, RSPB Ouse Fen, has been awarded £50,000 thanks to Postcode Lottery players.

Iain Wheller, RSPB’s Ouse Fen Nature Reserve Manager, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic news that RSPB Ouse Fen has been awarded such generous funding. Thanks to Postcode Lottery players for making this possible!

“Fifty thousand pounds will provide a huge boost to the reserve, enabling us to deliver more vital conservation work in a shorter timeframe and enhance the visitor experience, ensuring the site continues to thrive for both wildlife and the local community."

Deserving Causes

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Community Trust which supports smaller charities and good causes in Wales to make a difference to their community for the benefit of people and planet.

Players aren't the only ones who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. A minimum of 30% of each ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.5 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
