A triple twist

Two people smiling, holding large cheque for £71,428 from the Postcode Lottery, standing outdoors amidst greenery.

"It doesn’t seem real. It genuinely hasn’t sunk in. Things like this don’t happen to people like us."

Loved-up pair Stuart and Sarah Ware-Lane both signed up to the lottery and were completely unaware that they held three tickets between them.

Sarah had one winning ticket which raked in a cool £71,428. But husband Stuart unknowingly tripled the family fortune after revealing he’d quietly signed up with two tickets - banking a staggering £142,856 himself.

Stuart and Sarah were among 13 neighbours in Down Ampney sharing £1 Million when GL7 5QW landed the weekly Millionaire Street prize. Each ticket was worth £71,428.

The couple will treat themselves to at least one luxury holiday after years of putting family finances first.

A lucky referral

Dad-of-two Nathan Barnett was also left stunned when the lottery’s ambassador Matt Johnson handed over a cheque for £71,428.

Remarkably, Nathan only joined the Postcode Lottery five months ago after being referred by a coworker through our Refer A Friend programme.

"It’s amazing and totally unexpected. I’d have been happy with any amount, but I certainly wasn’t expecting anything this large."

An egg-cellent surprise

"For all the years selling eggs, I can’t believe something like this has come right out of the blue."

Former egg wholesaler Clive Maltby has also bagged a £71,428 prize. Clive spent decades running a family egg wholesale business, supplying farms, hotels, cafes and distributors across the country.

The retired businessman is already dreaming about holidays with his wife Caroline, along with campervans and photography gear.

First class plans

Sheila Panther says she’s ‘living in a dream’ after she also scooped £71,428.

The glamorous gran, who once worked as an air hostess and lived in the United States, said the suspense of waiting to discover how much she had won had left her ‘too excited to eat.’

Sheila is already dreaming about more luxury holidays, starting with a trip to visit friends in Florida and New York.

"I still can’t quite believe it. It doesn’t feel real. I haven’t even had lunch yet."

Helping the community

All of the neighbours were especially thrilled to hear local charities have received funding as a direct result of their winning postcode.

Sheila said: "It’s fabulous. There are so many charities desperate for help."

One of those charities, Cotswold Lakes Trust, has received £50,000 thanks to funds raised by Postcode Lottery players.

The organisation is dedicated to the conservation and enhancement of Cotswold Lakes in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

Executive Chairman Paul Hazel said: "This fantastic funding will enable us to do so much more to help rare species such as otter, water vole and kingfisher to thrive in the amazing wetlands of the Cotswold Lakes."

Other charities receiving funding include:

HOME-START COTWOLDS - £50,000

CIRENCESTER HOUSING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE - £50,000

THE CHURN COMMUNITY HUB - £50,000

Deserving Causes

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Community Trust which supports smaller charities all over Britain. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.7 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
