Linton-on-Ouse Millionaire Street
Stunned Wendy Edmond-Arnett is celebrating a £250,000 Postcode Lottery prize after her mother's astonishing prediction came true.
27 June 2026
Wendy and three neighbours in Linton-on-Ouse, near York, shared £1 Million when YO30 2AS landed our weekly Millionaire Street prize. Each ticket was worth £250,000.
Maternal winstinct

Wendy could barely believe her ears when mum, Jo Edmond, instinctively suggested the mystery prize might be ‘a quarter of a million pounds’.
Minutes later, the cheque was revealed at her home in Linton-on Ouse, North Yorkshire - and Jo’s guess proved spot-on.
"This is absolutely bonkers! Everybody dreams, don't they? But do you ever really believe it's going to happen? I never thought it would happen to me."
And the timing could hardly be better as Wendy and husband Marcus are in the middle of extensive renovations on their home, with costs rising. While the couple, who celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this year, plan to be sensible at first, Wendy admitted travel is already on the agenda, with a trip to Alaska on the horizon.
Making a splash

“We could go Porsche, we could go for a very expensive Amalfi Coast holiday… we could buy a boat.”
Marc Goddard was stunned when he saw his cheque - then reeled off a dream wish list with wife Jackie. The couple admitted their son Henry will also chip in with his own must-have buys.
But tattooed Marc continued to repeatedly shake his head as the reality slowly began to sink in.
Perfect retirement

Bill and Margaret Chambers also toasted a £250,000 win and said it feels like the start of an entirely new chapter.
The couple, who first built their lives together through the RAF, have weathered military postings, major health scares and years of hard work.
Now, having both retired, they're planning to make the most of every moment.
"We're over the moon. I can't put into words how good it feels."
The fourth person winning £250,000 was Linda Joynes, whose partner David Salmons collected the prize on her behalf.
And Bill said the biggest joy is sharing the experience with family, friends and neighbours.
Local charities have also been given a boost following the Millionaire Street prize landing on their doorstep.
And one local organisation, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, has received £100,000 thanks to funds raised by Postcode Lottery players.
The charity provides rapid critical care across Yorkshire, bringing specialist doctors and paramedics directly to people facing life-threatening illness and injury.
Other charities receiving funding include:
