Aylesbury £30,000 Prize

Stunned David Lewis ignored a message from the Postcode Lottery during his holiday on the Greek isle of Corfu - then returned home at 1am days later to find out he’d won.

30 June 2026

David and wife Jackie were lying on sunbeds by their hotel pool at a resort near Corfu Town when they got an alert from the lottery.

But the couple blanked it - and only found out they were in line for a £30,000 windfall when they arrived back home in the early hours on the day of the presentation.

David was one of 11 neighbours in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire who pocketed windfalls after HP21 7AL won our £30,000 prize, awarded to winning postcodes every day in June draws. Every ticket was worth £30,000, but one player doubled theirs with two.

The roofing contractor said he was getting ready to retire in a few weeks - but the windfall has brought his plans into focus.

David said: “I was going to retire in September. This may be the little push that I need.”

The dad of two daughters added: “Holidays are important in retirement. And I’m sure the kids will get some benefit.”

Double delight

Double delight

Emma Matthews told how she pocketed £30,000 alongside her husband after he signed up just one month ago.

Car hire firm boss Emma questioned Craig when he revealed that he’d joined the Postcode Lottery - because she had already been playing for years.

“Neither of us can believe it. We don’t win anything. We have very normal lives, and it doesn’t happen to people like us. It’s a surprise and so lovely. It will make such an impact.”

Linda Storey picked up £60,000 playing with two tickets - as builders working on a roof opposite shouted, ‘well done’ and started singing the lottery theme tune.

Now the mum-of two is planning to treat her five grandchildren and book a luxury river cruise.

She added: “This feels great. You see it on the TV and never think it will happen to you.”

Little pick-me-ups

Little pick-me-ups

Rosalind McCafferty says she’ll use her £30k windfall for little ‘pick-me-ups’.

Rosalind, formerly of Prestwick, Ayrshire, said: “I’d like to go away on long weekends for winter sunshine. Whenever we need a pick-me-up, to be honest. Do little weekends away and have some time out for us.”

The mum-of-one added: “We only moved here five years ago, but we have got to know our neighbours really well. They’re a lovely bunch of people.”

Deserving causes

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Support Trust which supports charities including Kinship, Missing People and Shelter.

Players aren't the only ones who benefit from Postcode Lottery. A minimum of 30% of each ticket price goes to charities and good causes. Thanks to our fantastic players, more than £1.8 Billion has been raised for thousands of deserving projects.
