Two Brimington residents have started their week off in style after winning £30,000 each. The windfall arrived after their postcode, S43 1EH, was announced as the winner of Monday's #30KADAY Street Prize.
Treats All Round
One of our lucky winners, Rose, learned of her windfall winner during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson. Rose was with her sister and daughter when the call came in. They all cheered as Matt revealed her cheque and Rose exclaimed, "Oh my God! I feel all emotional! I have never won anything, I'm gobsmacked."
Rose, a foster carer, had lots of ideas for her winnings, with family and home improvements foremost on her mind. She said, "I've got no wallpaper on my hall stairs landing or my kitchen at the minute, none at all. It means I can get it all done. I can have a new sofa, I can treat my three kids, I can treat my grandkids and my foster kids. It's amazing.
"New carpets, even my garden. I might get myself a little summerhouse. I always thought they were way too expensive, I could never have one. I just used to imagine that one was there. I might have one now!"
But first she was looking forward to celebrating the good news. She exclaimed, "I'll have to get a bottle of Prosecco for a start!"
Matt Johnson sent his well-wishes to our winners. He said, "A big congratulations to those who have picked up a prize today in Brimington. I hope the win will help lift their spirits and they treat themselves to something special with the cash."
Every day throughout our July draws one postcode will be announced as a £30,000 Street Prize winner. Every player in that lucky postcode will win £30,000 for every ticket they play.
